Sharing some of my favorite vacation destinations!
Traveling, one of my absolute favorite things to do. I would travel the world if I had the funds to do so. I love nothing more than exploring a new place, seeing all the beauty that this world has to offer. Usually when traveling, my family and I, like to head somewhere warm preferably some where with a big, beautiful beach. I’m a sucker for some crystal clear water and 90 degree weather. Today I wanted to share some pictures of four absolutely stunning placesI have visited in the past few years. Enjoy!
St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
When I retire, this is where you can find me. From the moment I stepped off of our honey moon cruise I fell madly in love with St. Croix. The island looks like a picture, stunning scenery every where you turn. Crystal clear water, gorgeous white sand beaches and a boardwalk that draws you right in and makes you never want to leave. My husband and I spent just one day on this island when we stopped here on a cruise but let me tell you one day was not enough. We spent the morning walking around the island, did a little shopping and then spent the afternoon on the beach. Every person that we had the opportunity to talk to was so friendly and sweet. I have been to some islands where you honestly just want to turn around and get right back on the boat because the islanders scare the crap out of you. This is not one of those places, we felt so welcome when we were here. The islanders weren’t the only reason I wanted to stay forever… the beach is what really got me. I have never seen such stunning beach in my whole life! The sand was a perfect shade of white, the water was so clear you could see fish swimming 20 feet below the surface and there was not a wave in sight. I could have built a shack on that beach and lived out the rest of my life as happy as could be. If you ever get the chance to go to St. Croix, whether it be by boat or plane, go! Do not hesitate to visit this stunning island. I personally can not wait to go back and visit again.
Sitka, Alaska
Oh, Sitka, you will always hold such a special place in my heart. Four years ago today I was visiting Sitka, Alaska with my mom and grandparents. Sitka, is a very small town located in Alaska, so small that there were only about 3 restaurants and bars and few stores to shop at. However, we did not go there for the food and shopping, we went to explore. When I heard that I had the opportunity to travel to Alaska with my family I could not pass it up, and let me tell you, this small town did not disappoint. We had such an amazing time, for a small town there were so many activities to do. On our very first day, we decided to take a small little boat out hoping to spot some whales. Within just a few minutes of being out there we saw three gigantic hump back whales splashing around, it was the most incredible experience of my life. To be next to such a large powerful animal was surreal. If you ever get the opportunity to go whale watching please do, I can not tell you how absolutely incredible it is. During the other days on the island we did a lot of hiking, the trails are incredible in Alaska (I was a little nervous about running into some bears, but thankfully we never did!!!!). We did however get to visit the Fortress of the Bear wildlife park, we were the only ones visiting that day so they gave us a special tour and even let us feed baby black bears, it was awesome! Sitka, may be small but this gorgeous little Alaskan town had so much to offer. I will never again be able to experience the things I did while visiting Sitka with my mom and grandparents. We had such a fun time and I hope that one day I can take my husband and son back there to experience the beauty that it holds.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Grand Cayman is also another stop that I have visited while on a cruise in the Caribbean. I am lucky enough to have been on two cruises that stopped here, so I have spent two days exploring this island. Grand Cayman is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many fun things to do here. The first time I visited we took a boat tour out to Sting Ray City, probably one of the top 5 coolest things I have ever done in my life. Don’t get me wrong I was terrified and didn’t want to get off the boat, but once my mom forced me off (haha) I really had such an incredible time. I wish so badly I had pictures of this to show you all but i’d have to go digging through old boxes in my mom’s basement to find them and that seems like too much work since its already 10 o’clock at night. Honestly, though Sting Ray City is crazy cool, a bunch of boats drive out to a huge sandbar located right in the middle of the ocean and once they get there the wild sting rays know that the boats have food so they just flood the area. It is insane to see so many wild sting ray swimming around. Once the sting rays comes everyone hops off the boats into the water to feed and pet the sting rays, not going to lie it was so scary but so incredibly amazing at the same time. My family still talks about how awesome that vacation was. My second time on the island I was with my husband and in-laws and we decided to spend the day at the Cayman Turtle Farm. There were so many adorable sea turtles there and we even got to hold a few of the babies. The turtle farm also had a great swimming pool to enjoy as well as a lazy river type area where you could snorkel around. I can not wait to go back to Grand Cayman again so that I can experience more of this stunning island.
Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Island
I have never in my life seen as clear of water as I did when I stepped off the boat onto Grand Turk. You guys, I am not joking this place is surrounded by the calmest, clearest, bluest water I have ever seen. My mouth literally dropped when I saw how stunning this place was. Again, I did not get to visit the island long, we stopped here on a cruise and were only allowed a few hours to explore. However, if I ever get the chance to go back I will take it in a heart beat. My husband and I were with our siblings and a few friends when our cruise stopped here for the day and we all decided it would be fun to spend the day snorkeling. We signed up for a snorkeling tour, you know since the water was so clear we couldn’t resist finding the best place to jump in! Our snorkeling tour was incredible, we all had such a fun time. The tour took us out into the middle of the ocean and the tour guides jumped right out and swam down to the bottom of the ocean to pick up huge conch shells to show everyone (I even got to keep one, it is sooo beautiful!). After getting to pass around the conch shells the tour guides took us to a tiny island right off the shores of Grand Turk and let us go out and snorkel the crystal clear waters for awhile. Then we headed back into the island where we got to hold and feed wild stingrays right on the beach. It was a very awesome experience, we all loved this tour and this island. I wish so badly that I lived in a place as gorgeous as Grand Turk.
