8 Random Facts

Listed 8 random facts about me and my life.

Since I am relatively new to blogging I thought it would be fun to write a post about my life. So below I have included 8 random facts…

  1. I married my middle school sweetheart, no seriously, we have been together since 8th grade! I still find it insane that two crazy kids have been able to stay together through high school, college and every other thing that life has thrown our way. We would definitely not say it has been easy, especially during our long distance stages in college but when you love someone you make it work and I am so happy we did. We’ve grown up together and that really is something special.
  2. My husband and I got married when we were only 23 and 24 years old. It was the most beautiful wedding, I wish we could relive that day all the time. The sun was shining so bright and we were surrounded by all of our closest friends and family. Ugh weddings are so beautiful, makes me so excited to see my sister get married next year!!
  3. We have the cutest, sweetest son in the whole wide world. He literally makes my heart melt when he gives me sweet little kisses and hugs. I could cry just thinking about it right now. Being a mom is my favorite thing in this world!!
  4. I am the oldest sibling in my family and the oldest grandchild on both my mom’s and dad’s sides of the family.
  5. I love animals, every single animal big and small. They are so sweet and cute and I wish so badly I could adopt a million pets but shane has limited me to two dogs, haha.
  6. I have wanted to start a blog for years now, I talked about it all the time with my friends and family. Seriously so so happy I finally started doing it. It has been so much fun to work on every day.
  7. I have a degree in public affairs from The Ohio State University, GO BUCKS!!!
  8. My whole family loves to travel, especially if there is a gorgeous beach involved. We  love going on cruises and staying at all inclusive resorts. Really anywhere hot with a beach works for us.

Okay, that’s all I’m going to share today. As always, thanks for checking out the blog! Hope everyone has a great night.

Favorite Vacation Destinations

Sharing some of my favorite vacation destinations!

Traveling, one of my absolute favorite things to do. I would travel the world if I had the funds to do so. I love nothing more than exploring a new place, seeing all the beauty that this world has to offer. Usually when traveling, my family and I, like to head somewhere warm preferably some where with a big, beautiful beach. I’m a sucker for some crystal clear water and 90 degree weather. Today I wanted to share some pictures of four absolutely stunning placesI have visited in the past few years. Enjoy!

St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

When I retire, this is where you can find me. From the moment I stepped off of our honey moon cruise I fell madly in love with St. Croix. The island looks like a picture, stunning scenery every where you turn. Crystal clear water, gorgeous white sand beaches and a boardwalk that draws you right in and makes you never want to leave. My husband and I spent just one day on this island when we stopped here on a cruise but let me tell you one day was not enough. We spent the morning walking around the island, did a little shopping and then spent the afternoon on the beach. Every person that we had the opportunity to talk to was so friendly and sweet. I have been to some islands where you honestly just want to turn around and get right back on the boat because the islanders scare the crap out of you. This is not one of those places, we felt so welcome when we were here. The islanders weren’t the only reason I wanted to stay forever… the beach is what really got me. I have never seen such stunning beach in my whole life! The sand was a perfect shade of white, the water was so clear you could see fish swimming 20 feet below the surface and there was not a wave in sight. I could have built a shack on that beach and lived out the rest of my life as happy as could be. If you ever get the chance to go to St. Croix, whether it be by boat or plane, go! Do not hesitate to visit this stunning island. I personally can not wait to go back and visit again.

Sitka, Alaska

Oh, Sitka, you will always hold such a special place in my heart. Four years ago today I was visiting Sitka, Alaska with my mom and grandparents. Sitka, is a very small town located in Alaska, so small that there were only about 3 restaurants and bars and few stores to shop at. However, we did not go there for the food and shopping, we went to explore. When I heard that I had the opportunity to travel to Alaska with my family I could not pass it up, and let me tell you, this small town did not disappoint. We had such an amazing time, for a small town there were so many activities to do. On our very first day, we  decided to take a small little boat out hoping to spot some whales. Within just a few minutes of being out there we saw three gigantic hump back whales splashing around, it was the most incredible experience of my life. To be next to such a large powerful animal was surreal. If you ever get the opportunity to go whale watching please do, I can not tell you how absolutely incredible it is. During the other days on the island we did a lot of hiking, the trails are incredible in Alaska (I was a little nervous about running into some bears, but thankfully we never did!!!!). We did however get to visit the Fortress of the Bear wildlife park, we were the only ones visiting that day so they gave us a special tour and even let us feed baby black bears, it was awesome! Sitka, may be small but this gorgeous little Alaskan town had so much to offer. I will never again be able to experience the things I did while visiting Sitka with my mom and grandparents. We had such a fun time and I hope that one day I can take my husband and son back there to experience the beauty that it holds.

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman is also another stop that I have visited while on a cruise in the Caribbean. I am lucky enough to have been on two cruises that stopped here, so I have spent two days exploring this island. Grand Cayman is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many fun things to do here. The first time I visited we took a boat tour out to Sting Ray City, probably one of the top 5 coolest things I have ever done in my life. Don’t get me wrong I was terrified and didn’t want to get off the boat, but once my mom forced me off (haha) I really had such an incredible time. I wish so badly I had pictures of this to show you all but i’d have to go digging through old boxes in my mom’s basement to find them and that seems like too much work since its already 10 o’clock at night. Honestly, though Sting Ray City is crazy cool, a bunch of boats drive out to a huge sandbar located right in the middle of the ocean and once they get there the wild sting rays know that the boats have food so they just flood the area. It is insane to see so many wild sting ray swimming around. Once the sting rays comes everyone hops off the boats into the water to feed and pet the sting rays, not going to lie it was so scary but so incredibly amazing at the same time. My family still talks about how awesome that vacation was. My second time on the island I was with my husband and in-laws and we decided to spend the day at the Cayman Turtle Farm. There were so many adorable sea turtles there and we even got to hold a few of the babies. The turtle farm also had a great swimming pool to enjoy as well as a lazy river type area where you could snorkel around. I can not wait to go back to Grand Cayman again so that I can experience more of this stunning island.

Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Island

I have never in my life seen as clear of water as I did when I stepped off the boat onto Grand Turk. You guys, I am not joking this place is surrounded by the calmest, clearest, bluest water I have ever seen. My mouth literally dropped when I saw how stunning this place was. Again, I did not get to visit the island long, we stopped here on a cruise and were only allowed a few hours to explore. However, if I ever get the chance to go back I will take it in a heart beat. My husband and I were with our siblings and a few friends when our cruise stopped here for the day and we all decided it would be fun to spend the day snorkeling. We signed up for a snorkeling tour, you know since the water was so clear we couldn’t resist finding the best place to jump in! Our snorkeling tour was incredible, we all had such a fun time. The tour took us out into the middle of the ocean and the tour guides jumped right out and swam down to the bottom of the ocean to pick up huge conch shells to show everyone (I even got to keep one, it is sooo beautiful!). After  getting to pass around the conch shells the tour guides took us to a tiny island right off the shores of Grand Turk and let us go out and snorkel the crystal clear waters for awhile. Then we headed back into the island where we got to hold and feed wild stingrays right on the beach. It was a very awesome experience, we all loved this tour and this island. I wish so badly that I lived in a place as gorgeous as Grand Turk.

Have you ever been to one of these places or anywhere that you loved so much you just wish you could stay there forever? Leave me a comment below and let me know of your favorite places. Thanks for reading, xoxo.

Beckham’s Wild One First Birthday

Our sweet boy turned 1 in August and we threw one WILD party.

Birthday Cake & Smash Cake: Sweet Temptations LLC (OMG, you guys, this cake was so moist and delicious!!! The whole entire cake was gone before the party ended. I was a little sad I didn’t get to keep some leftovers for myself, haha!) | Cookies: Nomi’s Cookies (These cookies were unbelievably cute! When I ordered the cookies all I did was tell her the theme and colors I was doing and let her work her magic and boy was I so happy with the end result! And holy cow these things were delicious! They went super fast too!) | Decorations: All of the banners, cake topper and cupcake toppers were found on Etsy, the tent and silver balloons were found on Amazon, and the “Wild One” themed decorations were ordered from Hobby Lobby.

Today our little Beckham turned 14 months old! How does time go sooo fast when you have kids? Ugh, it makes me so sad to think that he won’t be my cuddly little baby forever! (Cue the tears!!) We took him trick or treating tonight in our neighborhood and had such a fun time seeing him in his little police costume. He did great, even in this freezing cold Ohio weather. We might even take him back out on Tuesday night for trick or treating at his grandparents house. Hopefully, it gets a little warmer by then. Ohio went from summer to winter, skipping fall altogether. No surprises there though, ha.

Since, our sweet boy turned 14 months old today I thought it would be fun to share pictures from his big “Wild One” themed first birthday party. The party was a blast and the decorations turned out so cute!! I love throwing parties, I tend to go way overboard though with decorations and planning. I seriously planned his birthday for 6+ months, lol. He loved every second of it and we had so many friends and family come over to share his big day, so it was all worth it in the end. If you live in northern Ohio you should definitely check out the cake and cookie businesses I tagged above. The cake and cookies were phenomenal, like seriously, mouthwatering good! Everyone at the party was asking where they could order these desserts from. Beckham obviously loved his smash cake too as you can see in the pictures. Poor boy has a sweet tooth just like his momma. If you are looking for an easy and delicious food option for your birthday parties, go for a taco bar. Our taco bar turned out so great, it was not very expensive to do and everyone seemed to enjoy it, adults and kiddos! I had a lot of fun shopping for this party and I ended up ordering almost everything online. If you are curious where I purchased a specific item from please feel free to email me and I will let you know. I mostly ordered from Etsy, Amazon and Hobby Lobby but I did purchase a few things from other stores as well.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I am so not ready to head back to work tomorrow. I am excited to share Wednesday’s post with you. It will be all about my first collaboration, woohoo! See you then, xoxo.

Why I started Casa Blanca

Blogging has always been a dream of mine, very excited to have started Casa Blanca and to share my life with all of you!

Hello, friends! Happy Wednesday! Today’s post is all about why I started the Casa Blanca blog. For the past few years blogging has been a dream of mine. About three years ago I started following the Gal Meets Glam blog and fell in love with the whole idea of blogging. It is such a fun way to show your love for fashion, beauty, travel, family and so much more. You get to share all your favorite things, it’s all about you and your life. So, finally a little over a month ago I decided to follow my dream of stating a blog and that is how Casa Blanca came to be.

Since becoming a mommy 14 months ago, I have felt like I lost touch of who I was and what I wanted. Every second of every day was spent worrying about being the best wife and mom that I could be and I felt like I kind of lost myself in the mix. Don’t get me wrong, being a mom is my favorite thing on this planet, I was meant to be a mommy!! I am infatuated with my little Beckham he makes me the happiest person ever! However, I still felt a little lost and wanted to have my own fun outlet to enjoy. It has been a great first month of blogging. I have learned so much but I know I have a far way to go if I want Casa Blanca to continue to grow. I’m excited to keep working on it and sharing our life with all of you!

I hope you have enjoyed reading my posts this month. We have a few fun family vacations planned, NYC in November and Maui, Hawaii in February, that I can’t wait to share on the blog! As always, thanks for following along! Xoxo
